LEST WE FORGET (11/11/11)

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

FOR THE FALLEN

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

  4. This is not a post that warrants discussion.
My feelings are that if governments and the ministers there of stopped lining there pockets with the proceeds of death then I would be happy. Happier still if they stood up and were shot at. That would concentrate a mind or two. Daniel says Amen, the last word...I wish.

  7. Beautifully done, Adrian. I almost included that verse with my current post, too.

  8. Thank you one and all.........I have spent my life living in the futile hope that elected government would put an end to futile carnage. There is little chance.
Politicians are self seeking people. I suspect that despite all evidence to the contrary they assume war is a game of Hooray paint ball.

  9. There are few more critical of the loss of lives caused by politicians waging war though, sadly, such things are not confined to politicians who are, so often, just the followers of the vocal minority (or even occasionally the non-vocal majority). However you and I and those younger than us have been fortunate enough not to have been conscripted into fighting in some dark and lonely land or even in our own land. And for that we can thank so many who lost their lives that we should not. A reminder so beautifully made in your tribute,
